About Us
Ten Minute Travel
Ten Minute Travel presents the Traveller and the Tourist with exciting and engaging information, in bite-size offerings. Each of our content elements can be enjoyed in just ten minutes or fewer.
Passion-driven Expertise
Ten Minute Travel offers both Travel Journalism and Travel Writing. Our areas of passion-driven expertise will shine in the domains of Art, Music and Food. We are genre agnostic. We will cover medieval mosaics as readily as we do the avant-garde and everything in between. Street food and fine dining are investigated with like respect. Michaelangelo or Banksy?
Yes to both!
We will feature the usual suspects of European and North American art. In addition to this, we will highlight the creative genius in Slavic art, in South American art and in African art. We are acutely interested in the formal “come to our gallery and see the amazing…” exhibitions. In parallel, we will put on our walking shoes to find Street Art and Street Artists.
Our coverage of music will be equally diverse – however, we will lean strongly towards Jazz, the Blues and Latin Jazz. We will also explore less appreciated genres such as Fado, Gregorian Chant and traditional folk music, in the countries we visit.
Of course we will follow the big names. But this will not be our main focus. We will seek out stunningly gifted musicians who play on the street and in small, anonymous, clubs.
I travel to prove to the world in general, and to myself in particular, that we do not need to hate and kill each other.
We can live in peace.

Meet Mark
Mark Montgomery is half Belgian, half South Africa and half Ugandan. This might not make mathematical sense. However, it is an accurate definition of how his heart beats.
He is passionate about these three countries. Mark is equally obsessive about all 80 countries he has visited so far. He has ambitions of taking this to at least 100 countries visited.
Mark is both a Travel Journalist and a Travel Writer. He is a graduate of the London School of Journalism. He is a member of the International Travel Writers Association. He is also a member of the European News Agency.
As a Travel Journalist, Mark is gloriously passionate about Art, Music and Food. His travel journalism will focus on this trio of interests. He highlights and comments on art exhibitions and concerts of every kind.
Mark enjoys visiting new restaurants and exploring different cuisines. He does have an impatient streak. As an enthusiastic cook, he cannot abide being served restaurant food that is not prepared and presented with elegance and panache.
