I travel to prove to the world in general, and to myself in particular, that we do not need to hate and kill each other.
We can live in peace.

Meet Mark
Mark Montgomery is half Belgian, half South Africa and half Ugandan. This might not make mathematical sense. However, it is an accurate definition of how his heart beats. He is passionate about these three countries. He is also obsessive about all 80 countries he has visited so far. He has ambitions of taking this to at least 100 countries visited.
Mark is both a Travel Journalist and a Travel Writer.
As a Travel Journalist, Mark is gloriously passionate about Art, Music and Food. His travel journalism will focus on this trio of interests. He highlights and comments on art exhibitions and concerts of every kind. He enjoys visiting new restaurants and exploring different cuisines. He does have an impatient streak.
As an enthusiastic cook, he cannot abide being served restaurant food that is not prepared and presented with elegance and panache. “When I go to a restaurant, I want to be educated and entertained!”
That said, he can sniff out any street food stall in a 100 meter radius! Great food is not only the precinct of posh restaurants. On every continent, astonishingly delicious cooking can be enjoyed in the most humble of settings.
In his Travel Writing, Mark seeks to uncover the stories of ordinary people who are doing, or have done, extraordinary things. His success in this pursuit remains an enigma. Routinely, relative strangers will share their innermost feelings and intimate stories, as if in a confessional.
Mark believes that key to being a traveller, as opposed to being a tourist, demands that he “Go where they tell you not to go” and “Always leave something for the next visit.”
“Why do you travel so much?” He is asked regularly.
“I travel far and wide, taking with me not a hint of prejudice. I connect with people of every station in life. I meet with those of every religion and those who have none. I have been welcomed by people in big cities and those in settlements so remote that they don’t appear on any map” he says.
“I travel to prove to the world in general, and to myself in particular, that we do not need to hate and kill each other.”
We can live in peace.
